An ecological rehabilitation project on empty and dry land by planting mulberry trees and to promote income generation for local people by producing handicraft products.
Paotai village in Xamtai district, Hoaphanh province faces the problem of logging sold to Chinese and Vietnamese traders and high demand from local people, which lead to deforestation and ecological destruction spreading to the whole area of Xamtai district. Therefore, project aims to improve the ecosystem in the area by encouraging local people to planting mulberry trees and silkworms. This can help to increate the local people's income by producing handicraft products to reduce logging. The project will also focus on raising's people awareness of environment protection.
