The Beausoliel Rural Bio Economy Project ? Valorising Biodiversity Management through Enterprise Development and Sustainable Job Creation.
This project will focus on using waste and natural products from rural environments to produce biofertilizers and inputs for organic agriculture. The project objectives are to: (i) build the awareness/ sensitivity and capacity of at least 20 rural community stakeholders to identify and valorise biodiversity using a bioeconomic/bio value system approach; (ii) develop and operationalize practical approaches for the sustainable utilization of biodiversity resources by at least 20 rural stakeholders in selected value systems; and (iii) build capacity for collaborative business management of rural stakeholders in the community. A major outcome is to demonstrate how a diversity of interventions (cocoa by-products; mushrooms, biofertilizers and apiculture can be integrated to increase resilience
