Strengthening capacity of GEF/SGP grantees in Results Based Management and Dialogue with Government
Key weaknesses for GEF/SGP grantees observed over time include the following
(i) Project design and proposal formulation
(ii) Contract management. Understanding salient features of MOAs/contracts
(iii) Financial Management: Efficient use of grant funds
(iv) Project management: Monitoring and Evaluation as part and parcel of project
management
(v) Timely and results-based reporting
(vi) Capturing and documentation of project results
(vii) Sustainability of project activities including resource mobilization skills for project expansion and consolidation
(viii) Buy-in of Government and Private Sectors for Policy dialogue.
About the Proponent:
MIMUTIE Women Organization (MWO) is a registered NGO. It was registered in 2002 under the NGO Act. The Organization mission include (i) to facilitate dialogue (ii) impact and empower project management skills to development players particularly CSOs.
Project Objective:
To build the capacity of GEF/SGP grantees in project management with particular emphasis on Results Based Management.
Project Specific Objectives:
? Build skills of grantees to understand and implement provisions of MOAs/Contracts
? Enhance Implementation, monitoring and evaluation capacity
? Increase documentation and communication skills of project results
? Impact resource mobilization techniques to realize supplementary financial resources for scale up of project activities
? Facilitate dialogue with Government and Private Sectors with the view to achieve buy-in for visibility and policy dialogue
? Produce selected IEC materials to promote visibility of the GEF Small Grants Programme in the country
