Construction of a Charcoal Dam at Nyantare Village Guta ward in Bunda District to supply water for Livestock drinking and Domestic Purposes
Context:

Nyantare village in Bunda District has a large number of cattle which moves all the way to Lake Victoria and Nyantare river in search of water. These daily movements of livestock cause severe erosion and land degradation as well as siltation and eutrophication in the Lake Victoria. The village does not have a reliable source of water for domestic uses and livestock drinking therefore the large number of cattle belonging to the project community village and lack of reliable source of water for both domestic and livestock has necessitated the construction of the proposed charcoal dam.
