Project Characteristics and Results
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
First of all, the population will be informed about the goals and objectives of the project, the planned works and expected benefits. For this purpose, information meetings will be organized with the village trustee and specialists, teachers, youth and shepherds. Trainings and environmental activities will be held, on the spot they will learn about the biodiversity of Kolkheti National Park, ways to preserve it and its importance in strengthening the tourism sector. They will get acquainted with the recommendations proposed by the invited experts during the assessment of pastures. They will be directly involved in the mechanical processes of pasture improvement, they will get to know the principles of rotational grazing, the impact on both productivity and the preservation of biodiversity. They will get acquainted with the rules of using the electric shepherd.
Gender Focus
Gender balance will be preserved in the project, which is expressed by their equal involvement in information campaigns, trainings/ seminars, as well as in field work envisaged by the project. While drafting the project, we consulted with community representatives who hold high positions in local self-government and are women. This community is notable for the fact that the majority of the village, the assistant of the mayor's representative, the head of the public school and kindergarten are women. Women are also actively involved in agriculture. as well as end users of the projects both men and women will equally benefit with project results , they are shepherds and their family members
