Water Harvesting for Agriculture and Grazing in Faqoua District to Mitigate Drought caused by Climate Change
Water Harvesting for Agriculture and Grazing in Faqoua District to Mitigate Drought caused by Climate Change
The project aims at providing additional water sources for livestock in the area of Faqoua- Karak. The area is known for its ancient Roman wells, these wells used to store water during the control of the Roman Empire in the region. Now, these wells are not maintained nor used, the project will rehabilitate some of these wells to be used for water storage for livestock water and will dig new wells that will provide additional quantities of water for herds. This will support the livestock owners by securing water during dry season and reduce the current water cost, which will contribute to the improvement of their livelihoods and improve their herds productivity and health.
