Project Characteristics and Results
Replication of project activities
As a very expressive result of the project and the control of the territory that each community was able to build, above all, through monitoring and constant presence in the area; construction of firebreaks, improvements to ranches and roads carried out with own resources, but motivated by the project; improvements in land management and updating of community representative instruments; a greater awareness of the fundamental role of communities as guardians of the Cerrado in Pe. The Project also provided support in the preparation of proposals for improving conditions for local food production, typical of the culture of lacemakers and smiths. After the project, an expansion was noted for all closures of management actions and sustainable use of the socio-biodiversity of the standing Cerrado.
Through monitoring, an advanced process of recovery of a spring in Fecho de Pasto de Clemente was verified, a spring that was isolated, and seeds of native plants were planted for recovery purposes. This source was isolated using socio-environmental projects.
