Bocaina and Barreiro Quilombos: our rescued waters and traditions
Bocaina and Barreiro Quilombos: our rescued waters and traditions
The present project aims at the recovery of springs and other degraded areas, implantation of nurseries, vegetable gardens and beds of medicinal herbs in the quilombola territories represented by two community associations. Through social mapping, agroecological joint efforts, meetings and training, it aims to adapt traditional agricultural techniques and redesign agroecosystems, strengthening their territories, promoting food security and expanding income generation from an agroecological perspective. It also seeks to empower women and encourage youth in these communities to monitor air and water pollution, preserving the lives, tradition and culture of the communities involved.
