Support to the Traditional Community of Fecho de Pasto de Magras Tanque Novo Bahia
The Community of Magras, rural area of Tanque Novo Bahia, is made up of the localities of: Anil, Baraúnas, Lagoinha and Magras, located in a region of "gerais", remnants of the savannah, was certified by SEPROMI - Secretariat for the Promotion and Racial Equality of the Government of Bahia, as a traditional community of Fecho de Pasto, for maintaining a century-old tradition of collective grazing, in the vacant lands of the state, the geral. However, this way of life, peculiar to this locality, is compromised, because when cattle are released, they end up going to other communities, conflicts have arisen. Meanwhile, the region where grazing, the Gerais, remains idle, vulnerable to fire during the dry season and land grabbing by malicious squatters. We want resources to build fences and kill donkeys, so that the general and the way of life of collective grazing is preserved.
