The regional dialogues on Natural Capital and Biodiversity held in 8 regions of the country, including the Autonomous Sector of Bissau, made it possible to achieve the following results and indicators:
The involvement of different public and private institutions, youth associations, representatives of civil society, NGOs, Associations of economic interest groups, actors in the conservation of Protected Areas, representatives of community radios, religious authorities, régulos and representatives of local communities, in a total 372 people, in the Regional Dialogue on Natural Capital and Biodiversity, Climate Change and National and Determined Contribution in 8 Regions of the Country;
-Participants increase knowledge about the value of natural capital and biodiversity and ecosystem services to improve their living conditions and the negative impacts of Climate Change on the social, economic and ecological fabric.
The participants contributed to the identification of actions and measures that they can adopt to minimize the negative impacts that weigh on natural capital, biodiversity and the impacts of climate change on the social, economic and ecological fabric.;
Participants increase their knowledge about the Paris Agreement and the Determined National Contribution (CND) of the Government of Guinea-Bissau to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30%, during COP 26;
Participants in the regional dialogues on natural capital and biodiversity expressed interest in continuing regional dialogues on natural capital in their communities with a view to contributing to the resolution of environmental problems that affect terrestrial and marine biodiversity and ecosystems and to reducing the loss of biodiversity and habitats, and, contribute to the National Dialogue for valuing Biodiversity;
The participants contributed to the identification of actions and measures that they can adopt to minimize the negative impacts that weigh on natural resources, biodiversity and climate change.
Participants increase their knowledge of International Conventions, e.g. Convention on Biological Diversity, Convention on Climate Change and Convention on Desertification and Environmental and Forestry Laws and their indirect benefits to both human and animal populations
Participants increase their knowledge about the role of Wetlands in Biodiversity Conservation and the threats that weigh on it to the detriment of human actions (construction of housing and commercial infrastructure.
