Energy efficient building: a new approach to solving problems in rural areas
Project goal: Reduce energy costs of the retirement home to improve the quality of services.
Project tasks:
1. Carrying out work on energy saving of the building (replacement of light bulbs, replacement of mixers, replacement of part of the heat supply);
2. Organization of information and educational work on the development and implementation of energy-efficient measures for social buildings with the participation of representatives of the districts of the south-eastern region of the Mogilev region;
3. Building the potential of women through workshops and peer education.
Results:
Replaced 2000 meters of electrical wiring, replaced 43 mixers, replaced 292 bulbs.
? Improvement of living conditions for 50 single senior citizens and disabled people who live in the old building of the former school,
? Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 0.882 tonnes of CO2 by replacing conventional bulbs with energy efficient bulbs.
? In 7 village councils, reduction of expenses for payment for consumed electricity by USD 1,580 annually (at the expense of payment for electricity in sparsely populated remote settlements).
? Reducing the cost of serving lonely elderly people in sparsely populated remote areas will allow the savings to be directed towards solving other more global problems of the area. One of the acute problems, especially in the Chernobyl zone, is the fight against hogweed.
? 35 specialists from adjacent districts, 50 specialists from the Kostyukovichi district, 30 specialists from the "Kostyukovichy RCSON" institution, 50 senior citizens living in the department will improve their competencies in the field of energy efficiency.
? 40 women will learn to develop and implement their own innovative solutions to sustainable development problems;
? More than 165 people will take part in the events and more than 150 people have been informed about the problem of climate change and the results of the project to reduce emissions.
