The results of the soil sampling that were taken at the beginning of the project from the targeted lands showed high levels of the salinity concentration in the top layer of the soil which led to the decrease of the crop production in these greenhouses, while 15% of the green houses are still under low salinity levels. Based on the results, good agricultural practices were identified such as the good way of plowing the farmers? lands, adding the compost to increase OM and the quantities of the fertilizers the farmers should put and apply in their lands. After implementing these interventions, the second phase of soil sampling showed that the soil salinity level was decreased by 52.9% after conducting the above-mentioned interventions in 89% from the green houses, while 11% of the soil salinity under greenhouses was slightly increased due to several reasons such as: sampling error, fertilization or not accepting the proper recommendations.
Regarding the Soil Organic matter, the results show that 29.4% of the soil in the greenhouses was increased due to the addition of the organic fertilizers or compost during the land preparation.
The other nutrient concentrations (NPK) are still high especially Potassium and phosphorus because these parameters are not mobile in the soil.
