Solomon Islands Kiribati Ecumenical Women Association Project
This project is managed by a group of Kiribati women who are of Micronesian race and are a minority group in the Solomon Islands.
The project aims to assist members to run their own project in their villages making traditional hand made Kiribati crafts and products so that the traditional skill is passed on to their younger generation, and as a way of preserving their culture and identity.
Objective:
1. A place for marketing of Kiribati locally hand made products.
2. A hall for show casing Kiribati?s skills on traditional medicine
3. Traditional skills kept alive and passed on to next generation.
Project Components include; Purchasing of building materials; Construction of the building, and Training and awareness programme
Expected Outputt is to have a hall where Kiribati women can use to share knowledge and awareness on their traditional way of doing things, and where the traditional knowledge can be disseminated to their younger population.
