Raising Awareness and Public Support for the conservation and preservation of Saint Lucia's Biodiversity through a dcoumentary which focuses on endangered species and ecosystems (Phase 2)
This project will help to document the threatened and endangered species of Saint Lucia and the related ecosystems. It will involve the production of an HD video which focuses persons views on the loss of biodiversity and the consequential impact on quality of life. The project goal is to: To produce and widely circulate a video documentary on the ecology of the endemic and threatened wildlife (predominantly fauna) of Saint Lucia as a means to increasing awareness, knowledge and the development and implementation of strategies for their conservation and the objectives are as follows: (i) To determine awareness and attitudes of Saint Lucian public to threatened wildlife;? (ii) To produce a video documentary of St. Lucia?s endemic and indigenous species with their associated ecosystems in 12 months with an additional 3 months for screening of the product; and (iii) To Promote and market a HD video documentary to build awareness and appreciation of threatened wildlife species and ecosystems of Saint Lucia.
If is expected that by the end of the project this HD video will help to place biodiversity higher on the national agenda.
During phase one the project was affected by the Covid - 19 pandemic, but the grantee was able to capture wildlife in many ecosystems and produced a draft HD copy of some of the footage. Based on the progress achieved and the co-funding attracted, the NSC approved the second phase.

A baseline survery plus an end of project survey and an evaluation report will be prepared for identifcation and distillation of lessons.
