Enhancing Capacity of Gomosue Community in Climate Change and Biodiversity Conservation
Enhancing Capacity of Gomosue Community in Biodiversity Conservation. Gomosue is a rural community in upper Montserrado County. The inhabitants have little knowledge about the effects and management of climate change and the adverse impacts human activities cause on the environment. As a result, there has been environmental hazard on human population in various communities. In an effort to address the situation, LURA will conduct awareness raising workshops on climate change issues that affect Gomosue and its sounding communities. Furthermore, an eco-friendly classroom will be constructed for research purposes. Training of trainer?s workshop which will bring together 75 community members and 15 selected students of the Department of General Forestry from the University of Liberia will be included in the activities plan. In addition, awareness raising workshop for 75 community members on climate change impacts on social economic development and training in measurement of carbon sequestration of forest trees will be held. The goal of the project is to reduce the effects of climate in Gomosue and surrounding communities.
