People moving to safer food production practices using renewable energy
The project is planned to empower and increase self-sufficiency of women in Raa Atoll Vaadhoo. The project is designed to help women apply modern hydroponic farming technology widely in the production of fruits and vegetables at a commercial level. The project also aims to help greening the Maldives by sourcing scarce species of plants to the needed areas. Moreover, the project would utilize wasted coco husks to produce cocopeat as a value-added commercial product. Solar renewable energy would be utilized in these production systems so that people will get familiarized with the use of renewable energy
