Enhance technical skills and develop businesses for vulnerable families affected by COVID-19 of Shahab and Hara District Welfare Organization and women of Kani Village in Qeshm Island
Overall objective / activities to be implemented under the grant:
The spread of COVID-19 in Iran has reduced income or closed down home businesses especially among vulnerable and underprivileged groups living in villages of Qeshm Island in Hormozgan Province. The unfavorable living conditions of the target groups have also deprived them of basic necessities of life. Due to the deprivation of villagers deteriorated by the Covid-19 pandemic, lack of access to the market, and their insufficient skills to introduce themselves to the market, the group could not provide suitable economic conditions for themselves and their families.
This project intends to pay special attention to the 35 clients of the State Welfare Organization in Shahab and Hara as well as 30 housewives of Kani Village by empowering them to develop environment-friendly businesses and create opportunities to participate in the market and introduce and sell their products. The project objectives include, skill improvement and startup training courses to develop eco-friendly businesses, from ideas to revenue generation, capacity building and job creation of State Welfare Organization clients of Shahab and Hara and the women of Kani Village, to promote income and sustainable business, information and exchange of experiences through methods appropriate to the culture of the local community about the Covid-19 disease in Jijian Village and training to promote environmental hygiene and involve the people of Bangali Village in waste management.
