TAPUHIA BIODIVERSITY PROJECT
The group?s vision to ensure that the indigenous women in the community of Tapuhia have a stable and sustainable livelihood that can contribute to their roles as a woman in their families, to the community and its environment.
The vision is obtained through their mission to help the livelihoods of the women through development projects and activities that escalates their knowledge and skills in project management.
The core activities in this project are focused on planting native trees, fruit trees, vegetables etc.
The proposing organization has been planning to address the issue of biodiversity in their community which are annually impacted by severe weather and cyclones due to climate change.
The rationale is not only limited in restoration of biodiversity loss in Tapuhia, but it is to further develop the leadership skills of the women and youth who are in this group. Also, this project will teach women and youth the certain skills for living as a sustainable and resilient community.
