The project aims at supporting the Community in Osorm village to get official recognition of Stung Ta Chan CPA following the CPA legalization process and providing options for improving the livelihood of the community in Osorm village, Osorm commune, Vealveng district, Pursat province. To achieve the above objective, the project will be implemented with the following interventions: i) Support the community to complete the CPA legalization process including the development of Stung Ta Chan CPA management plan to get Brokas of Stung Ta Chan CPA establishment from MoE for the community to make use and manage of 2,990 ha of Protected Areas. The project will produce 4 big cement poles and 1,400 small signboards to demarcate Stung Ta Chan CPA and conduct regular patrolling of the CPA areas to ensure that 2,400 ha will be protected during the legalization process. In addition to that project will build the capacity of CPA committee members on leadership and management skills, dissemination of protected Areas law, and sub-degree on the establishment of CPA to Stung Ta Chan CPA committee members and 50 members. To improve the livelihood of the community, the project will train 30 farmers in Agro-forestry and provide support to 6 farmers to practice agroforestry in the select areas inside the CPA, organize a saving group with 30 members, and start to provide eco-tourism services by conducting a study Tour for CBET committee to learn on how to run and manage CBET and support basic development of CBET. The experiences resulting from the implementation of the project will be documented as a short video story and success stories/case studies to share with stakeholders both inside and outside the community through project completion workshop.
