Integrated sustainable farming
Beru Island is a rural living environment setting located on the outer island situated in the Southern part of Kiribati. Rikian Arora Community is located at Kabaeka station, Nuka village, Beru Island consisting of 80 members. Beru Island consists of 2214 population which has been increased from the last five years census in 2015.

The project aims to build the capacity of members in an integrated sustainable farming program equipping them with necessary skills on livestock management, agricultural activities including composting technologies. The project will pilot an integrated farming project which will not only help to address the malnutrition issues on Beru Island but also help increase the capacity of members in activities related to agriculture, livestock management, financial management, etc. As per the Kiribati medical report, Beru has been listed as one of the highest in malnutrition cases in Kiribati Island.
