Youngsters for Eymir Lake
While the epidemic has not completely disappeared after the period of lockdown due to the COVID-19, people still continue to experience anxiety about being in crowded environments. Recently, the medical and plastic waste around the Lake of Eymir where citizens in Ankara prefer to visit for their entertainment and positive feelings, is strikingly increasing. Considering the extinction time of the increasing waste in nature, it has been worried that the lake and its surroundings could cause climate change and negatively affect the lives of the creatures living in the environment. To deal with such a crucial environmental issue relevant with epidemic, high school students in adolescence, which is known to be one of the most important steps in the life of identity development, new role models, and learning styles, were determined as the main sample. Within the scope of the project, it was aimed to convey information about the extinction times of waste in nature, their destructive effects on the environment, biodiversity; and to collect and sort waste in a designated area around the lake with bicycles.
