Silkworm Reintroduction
Silkworm breeding and silk processing have been carried out in Nall?han county since the Ottoman Empire period. Traditional production processes, both sericulture and needle embroidery, are in danger of extinction due to various environmental, social and economic reasons. The youth cannot find employment opportunities in these silkworm breeding and silk processing areas. The main goal of our project is to revive silkworm breeding, which is the traditional livestock and handcrafts area of Nall?han, and other traditional handicrafts produced using silk thread. Besides, the silk threads obtained from the silkworm will appeal to a wide audience by transforming the traditional handicrafts of silk needle lace and hand weaving into new design products and materials that can be used by every audience today.
