Atelier for Recycle Forward
Atelier for Recycle Forward
Voluminous wastes that cannot be recycled are stored/ buried together with domestic waste in our country. Burying the voluminous wastes, which are within the responsibility of municipalities, instead of reusing is among the main factors that cause environmental pollution and also causes an increase in raw material consumption.
In this context, an upcycling and reuse workshop will be established and an area where the acceptance of wastes will be created within the framework of the waste management plan. In this area, there will be containers where the wastes will be classified and stored. The wastes will be made ready for reuse by going to the appropriate workshop according to their types and undergoing the necessary work and processes. In the workshop, the products collected from the landfills or donation by the metropolitants will be overhauled and brought back to life. On this occasion, taking into account the economic difficulties we are in, added value will be provided to the household income of all citizens living in Ankara, especially those receiving social assistance.
The unearthed and recycled products can be taken back by the citizens or offered for sale. Here, transactions can be carried out addressing three main groups. Firstly, the needs of 210,000 families receiving social assistance who are trying to maintain their lives in 25 districts registered with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will be tried to be met, and their products that can be considered as waste will be recycled free of charge. In the second stage, the products collected in the landfills and donations will be re-evaluated and offered for purchase on the planned sales platforms. In the third stage, it is aimed to organize workshops for the trainees. In addition, there will be a library and cafe designed with upcycled products, where our citizens who come to the workshop to donate or buy products can spend time.
In starting period, 4 main workshops will be established in our ?Upcycling and Reuse Center?. These workshops will be paint, carpentry, electricity - welding and textile workshops.
