Comprehensive Restoration Policy for Forest Fires
Forest fires are one of the most important ecological factors that have been influencing Mediterranean type ecosystems for centuries. However, the number and severity of forest fires increase every year as a result of several drivers as climate change and the increase in human activities in forest areas. Because of fires, not only forests, but also the biodiversity in forest and maquis ecosystems as well as forest villagers who benefit from the non-wood products provided by the forests are negatively affected. For this reason, post-fire restoration practices should be handled with multifaceted inclusive, ecological and socio-economic approaches. Within the scope of this project, non-wood forest products that villagers benefit from forests through conducting interviews where forest fires occurred in Mu?la will be revealed.
