Agroecology and organic farming to support small farmers and vulnerable groups of population
The main goal of the project is to adapt modern organic technologies in the context of hostilities in Ukraine, as well as support internally displaced persons, including children with special educational needs, by providing them with high quality agricultural products from local producers in Zhytomyr region. The main specific objectives of the project focused on development and adaptation of organic technologies for growing crops to emergency conditions; as well as provision of information and advisory services to agricultural producers in Zhytomyr region in order to assist in the cultivation and distribution of products.

Project Characteristics and Results
Replication of project activities
? Scientific and advisory assistance was provided to about 30 farms, including implementation of agro-ecological methods in conditions of open military confrontation. ? A catalog of local farms was developed and published to disseminate knowledge, highlight and promote agro-ecology in the region. ? A training course was developed to promote implementation of modern organic technologies under the conditions of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
Project sustainability
In general, the project ensured popularization and effective implementation of organic technologies for growing agricultural crops, and increased sustainability of land management for local farms for the next 5-7 years.
