The New River Irrigation Enhancement Project will increase water storage capacity, reduce water wastage and to improve water availability to farmers. An increase and consistent water supply will reduce crop loss, improve crop production, increase farm income and improved livelihoods. The Cooperative Society firmly believes that the procurement of a solar pump for the Well, improving storage and on-farm water distribution will mitigate some of the climate change impacts experienced in the area. Several members of the cooperative and farm workers are from the surrounding communities. Improved production leading to increased sales to various markets and the farmers direct to consumer roadside market stalls will require more workers resulting with more income for the communities and resources to improve each farm.
