Promoting Women and youth participation in environmental conservation through modern bee farming for nutrition and income in Lower Nuimi District.
The project is to promote and establish five modern and environmentally friendly bee apiaries in 5 communities to directly benefit 240 Women and youths. This is to build technical capacity on beekeeping, bee product value addition as a viable source of income for the beneficiary rural communities as well as promote nutritional health, entrepreneurial skills of Women and youths.

Specific Objectives
? To establish 5 modern and environmentally friendly bee apiaries in 5 communities of Ker Chandeh Beekeepers, Samba Njabeh Beekeepers, Madina Manneh Beekeepers, Madina Mbayen Beekeepers and Lowen Beekeepers in the Lower Nuimi District, North Bank Region.
? To provide technical training for 25 Women and youths on beekeeping, Bee product Value Addition processing (Bee Wax soap, Bee Wax Cream, Fruit Honey Jam, Honey Cake baking), packaging and marketing to enhance income generation, promote nutritional health, entrepreneurial skills of Women and youths.
? Creation of self-employment opportunities for women and Youths to alleviate rural poverty and reduce rural migration by providing sustainable revenue generation;
? Promote Environmental Management, nutritional and medicinal benefits to rural Women and youth farmers through bee pollination, afforestation, bee product value addition.

Project Activities
The following are the main planned activities, and where there should be sub activities, as specified in the approved work plan and budget.

1. Five Modern apiaries constructed and stocked;
2. Establishment & nursing 3000 assorted plants for 5 apiaries;
3. Procurement of fencing material for 5 apiaries of 240 m/square each;
4. Production of 120 bee boxes, boots (pairs), bee suits, gloves and other assessories including Smokers, torch lights, 20 litres pan with lid, plastic head pan;
5. Production of Location sign boards;
6. Onsite training of 25 Women and youths b/keepers on modern apiary establishment;
7. Training of 25 Women and youths on beekeeping management;
8. Training of 25 Women and youths on Bee product Value Addition processing;
9. Construction of Apiary Stores;
10. Training of 25 Women and youths on entrepreneurial skills;
11. Training of 25 Youths (Male and Female) on Honey and Bees Wax processing, packaging and marketing of products;
12. Monitoring and Evaluation (Mid-term review and Final review and reporting).
