?Promoting the nationally determined contributions (NDC's) by 2023
?Promoting the nationally determined contributions (NDC's) by 2023
The project is aimed at supporting the promotion of the new NDC for Seychelles and getting multi-stakeholder support for the new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for Paris Accord targeting more private sector and civil society organisations in the country. This will be done through multiple activities with a range of stakeholders including youth, women and community groups, Private Sector and Government departments across different sectors. These stakeholders will focus on promoting their renewed climate change commitments and contributions in line with the 2015 Paris Accord. The consensus of climate change and its potential impact on the world, and in particular, on small island developing states like Seychelles are critical to our future management of climate change impacts on our daily lives and on the global world which we all value.
The project relates to several other national climate change initiatives that have taken in the past and are currently underway, including efforts to encourage civil society and the private sector to invest in energy efficient and renewable energy technologies, and take steps to improve their resilience in the face of climate change impacts. The project will take these initiatives into account and work towards developing partnerships and synergy in order to advance the successful implementation of the NDC with more participation from civil society and the private sector.
