Solarization of Champs Community Centre and Youth Agricultural Training Programme
Solarization of Champs Community Centre and Youth Agricultural Training Programme
The Champs Community Centre will be solarized using 38 400-watt solar panels and a 7.7 kW Inverter to produce sufficient solar energy to run the Centre. The Centre will be tied into the energy grid of Freeport so that the Centre can generate either energy credits or cash pay back from Grand Bahama Power. The Centre will be able to operate completely using solar energy, with minimal to no reliance on fossil fuels. Boys involved in the Club will be taught climate-smart and other agricultural techniques so they can begin to feed themselves and their families. It is envisioned that these skills will enable them to positively impact their communities and nation. The Club members will learn agricultural skills that can enable them to grow food to feed their families, giving their communities access to fresh, healthy food sources.
