Conservation of Natural Resources and Development of Taing You Community Based Eco-Tourism
This project is aiming at developing of Community based Eco-tourism for improving the livelihood of Taing You Community Protected Area (TYCPA) members and using the revenue from providing eco-tourism services to conserve 1,447 ha of TYCPA forest areas in the long run. To achieve this goal, the project will construct the basic infrastructure for eco-tourism development such as durable stairs 394 meters long and 1.2 meters wide follow a sample of wooden stairs built by CEPA at Phnom Chumroksat Eco-tourism, SGP project in Stung Treng province and construction of two latrines (one for male and one for female) as agreed standards (concrete walls, water tank with zinc roof) equip with solar energy for lighting. The project will produce a video documentary of the project's success story and organize a workshop for sharing it. In addition to that, the project also provides support to the TYCPA committee to have monthly and quarterly meetings with TYCPA members. The capacity building on project management, reporting, and forest conservation-related activities such as monthly smart patrol will be supported by USAID Green Prey Long as a co-fining part of this project. One laptop for the TYCPA to record the number of tourists, income, and expenditure of TYCPA and store TYCPA data and information will be provided by USAID Greening Prey Lang Project.
