Development livelihood of Chak Ang-re Community Protected Area through strengthening eco-tourism services and conservation of natural resources
This project is aiming at developing of Community based Eco-tourism for improving the livelihood of Chak Ang-re Community Protected Area (CACPA) members and use the revenue from providing eco-tourism services to conserve 1,166 ha of CACPA forest areas in the long run. To achieve this goal, the project will support the construction of the basic infrastructure for CACPA eco-tourism development such as durable stairs with 379 matters long and 1.2 matters wide following a sample of wooden stairs built by CEPA at Phnom Chumroksat, the SGP project in Stung Treng province, and the construction of two latrines as agreed standards (concrete walls, water tank with zinc roof) equipped with solar energy for lighting. The project will also buy one laptop for the community to record the number of tourists, income, and expenditure of CACPA, and store community data and information. The project will produce a video documentary of the project's success story and organize a workshop for sharing it. In addition to that, the project also provides support to the CACPA committee to have monthly and quarterly meetings with CACPA members. The capacity building on project management, reporting, and forest conservation-related activities will be funded by USAID Green Prey Long as a co-fining part of this project.
