The primary objective is to enable the farmers in the targeted communities to ply their trade in a sustainable way by adhering to the agricultural best practices. The result of which is to increase their economic output, impact the lives of their families, increase food security by supplying the demands of the local and international demands, increase economic activities locally and globally which will decrease the importation of goods and contribute significantly to the GDP. This initiative will aid the farmers through the Farmer?s Group by supplying them with the Greenhouse, irrigation and other farming equipment, capacity building through training, financial management, technical support among others. The expected results will be:
? Hectares of Land Sustainably Managed ? through the construction of a fully functional 3500 sq. ft Greenhouse in the planting of short crops and seedlings for sale by the Farmer?s Group.
? Increased Awareness of Agricultural Best Practices- through trainings and sensitization in new modern agricultural techniques, climate change resilience and adaptation practices to include environmental awareness.
? Improved Livelihoods and Economic Opportunities for Farmers? through the use of new technology and techniques, thus realising improved production and larger returns which will allow for greater sustainability, food security and contribution to GDP.
