Pilot project on remote environmental education of youth in the South-Eastern region of the Mogilev region
Project goal:
creation and testing of an effective model of mass environmental education of young people and other categories of the population using modern distance learning technologies
Project tasks:
1. Development and placement on electronic educational platforms of materials on environmental education in thematic areas of activity of the SGP GEF/UNDP.
2. Conducting online competitions among students of secondary and secondary specialized educational institutions of the SVR of the Mogilev region on thematic areas of activity of the GEF/UNDP SGP.
2. Informing the public of the project region on the implementation of the provisions of international conventions and initiatives in the field of biodiversity conservation, climate change, land degradation, sustainable forest management, international watercourses, organic pollutants, in the implementation of which the Republic of Belarus participates.
3. Creation of a sustainable mechanism in the project region to educate the public in areas related to biodiversity conservation, climate change, land degradation, sustainable forest management, international watercourses, organic pollutants; ensuring the participation in this activity of educational institutions, local authorities and self-government, as well as civil society organizations.
4. Ensuring the gender component in the implementation of the project, because approximately equal numbers of boys and girls are beneficiaries of the project, and teachers of schools and secondary specialized educational institutions, who are also beneficiaries and participants of the project, are overwhelmingly women.
Results:
1. Developed and implemented in educational institutions of the south-eastern region of the Mogilev region, electronic educational content on issues related to the conservation of biodiversity, climate change, land degradation, sustainable forest management, international watercourses, organic pollutants.
2. Raising the level of awareness of children, youth, local population, authorities and self-government, and others interested in the project region on issues related to biodiversity conservation, climate change, land degradation, sustainable forest management, international watercourses, organic pollutants.
3. Creation of a sustainable information mechanism to inform the public on these issues.
