Greening Cheparan and Lelen boreholes: Improved access to water for 600 Households in Kaplelwo Location, Mogotio Sub-county, Baringo County through switching boreholes operation from diesel to Solar Energy
1.1. Project Summary

The intervention targets Lelen and Kaplelwo communities in Koibosoi Location, Emining Ward, Mogotio Sub-County. , Baringo County. FSK will work closely with Government line ministries seek to promote pasture establishment and environmental conservation. This is aimed to resolve challenges identified in the target area on pasture production and losses. The project proposes to support the communities with brush cutters, hay bailers as well as construction of pasture storage facilities. The intervention is expected to be implemented within four months.

1.2. Summary of 1st project and relevant linkages.
Through support from GEF Small Grants Programme of the UNDP, Farming Systems Kenya implemented a climate change mitigation project titled, ?Greening Cheparan and Lelen boreholes: Improved access to water for 600 Households? in Lelen and Cheparan villages by switching Borehole operations from diesel to solar to eliminate Carbon emissions from the boreholes.
