Mainstreaming Waterbirds Conservation into National Plans and Wetlands Management Plans
This project aims to develop and publish information on wetland birds based on studies carried out by ornithologists in Lebanon; Develop a list of threatened bird species in need of permanent protection compiling CMS, AEWA, RAC/SPA, CITES, IUCN annexes, as well as nationally threatened species; and provide recommendations to Decision-makers for their protection and to local communities for their conservation management; A field Guidebook to the birds of wetlands of Lebanon, and an Action Plan for the wetlands of Lebanon; also project material produced will be disseminated through a well-designed communication plan to relevant decision-makers, stakeholders and general public.
