Crochet Coral Reef
Crochet Coral Reef
List the environmental problem(s), issue(s), need or opportunity you wish to address. The Crochet Coral Reef is an artwork responding to climate change, an exercise in applied mathematics, and a wooly experiment in evolutionary theory. At a time when living reefs are dying from heat exhaustion and oceans are awash in plastic, the Crochet Coral Reef offers a tender impassioned response. This is a crafty retort to climate change, a one-stitch-at-a-timemeditation.https://crochetcoralreef.org/about/theproject/.

Barbados has an overall reef heath index score of 2.7 out of 5, which means the island?s coral reefs are, on average, in fair condition. Coral cover, macroalgae cover and herbivorous fish abundance are also fair, but commercial fish abundance is very poor. These results are very similar to those of other eastern Caribbean countries. The stressors known or suspected to have played a part in the demise of Barbados? coral reefs could be grouped into five main categories, and that they would be displayed in order of likely importance as key drivers of change (based on local expert opinion). These include stressors of both local origin (water quality, over harvesting, physical damage) as well as those of external or global origin (climate change, invasive species).A Coral Report Card
