Promote Public Participation in Environmental Protection and Village Forest in Sanamxay County.
The project promotes community participation in the management of the environment and village forests in Sanxay district. This is a project to sustainably manage the environment and forest resources by promoting community participation in two target villages of the project (Moon village for 209 households and Dakanat village for 86 households) in Xanxay district, Attapeu province. In the past, it was difficult for villagers to manage land for production, such as the problem of increasing population leading to encroachment into the forest to expand the production area, lack of funds for village development, lack of regulation on forest resource management, forest fires, and lack of good management and allocation of resources. The project aims to build good forest management practices by establishing a comprehensive environmental management plan, reviewing and improving the types of forest and rural forest in the village area, establishing the boundaries of each forest type, establishing and implementing the forest management plan at the village level, and monitoring. In the implementation of these measures, gender roles and measures to protect ethnic groups, children and the disabled will be taken into account. In addition, the quality of life will be promoted through the savings group and the implementation of a comprehensive environmental management plan.
