Agricultural waste as textile and design raw materials in the municipality of Kocani
The interdisciplinary project "Agricultural waste as raw textile and design material in the municipality of Kocani" is established for the development of volunteering, internships, youth employment, and training for professional and intellectual skills with generating research and prototypes in the fields of creation of new products from rice waste.
This project can increase the potential, desire and motivation of young people in the region of Kocani, to use their opportunities and abilities to work on a project related to fashion, agriculture, technology and environmental initiatives. The participatory gains include experienced mentoring, as well as, networking with experts and professionals. Through a number of workshops, experiments, and exhibitions by this consortium, > 20 creatives will have the opportunity to intensively exchange and co-create their ideas. In the experience itself and working with a vulnerable group of citizens acquires the importance of communication, understanding and equality in society. Within this project one of the main goals is to research the use of innovative approaches to the use of rice waste in rural areas.
The main goals to be achieved in this project are to create and raise awareness for the protection of the environment, ie: education about environmental protection through the application of environmental and creative measures for the use of rice waste in the municipality of Kocani, strengthening environmental awareness for; the importance of the circular economy in the creative industries, education about the agricultural sector, forming cross-sectoral partnerships and finding green solutions to social problems. We also aim to increase employment and self-employment among young people, ie: increase the development of professional skills before employment among young people, counseling and educating for a more successful future career, encouraging and developing volunteering and activism among the youth for their greater involvement in the community, etc.
