This project is located in an area where the watershed has a diversity of flora and fauna, is steep and very vulnerable to various forms of mass movement and is in a village assessed to be the poorest in Saint Lucia. It builds on the foundation of another project that focused on planting vetiver plants for land protection and use in micro enterprises. The objectives as stated in the project document are two-fold and are as follows:

(i) to set up a small commercial operation to add value to locally-sourced inputs including vetiver; and (ii) to Operationalize an EbA farming model that can be adopted/scaled by local farmers,

This project is expected to be both prescriptive and experimental.
