Improving the Effectiveness of Source Segregation of Waste in Fuvahmulah City of Maldives, towards a Zero Waste Future.
In order to execute this project effectively Training of Trainers will be carried out where a minimum of 8 Trainers will be produced. They will become facilitators in the workshops and activities which will be carried out on Segregation, Waste to Wealth and Waste Auditing. The workshops will involve stakeholders from government institutions and public with at least 20 participants from these stakeholder groups. Thought their input, a localized Waste segregation standard will be created and at least 30% of the households will adopt and implement the new segregation standard. The project will also create a Community Swap Market and organize at least 1 swap meet in Fuvahmulah. Encompassing all these there will be a planned Awareness and Communications Campaign which will reach at least 50% of the population of Fuvahmulah.
