Building local capacity in Mitigating coastal land degradation
The environmental problems include: coastal erosion and how to minimize land degradation. A presentation on the assessments carried out and recommendations will be presented to the Penama Provincial Council as well as the communities located close to the area of concern.
Another environmental problem: Replant trees that are suitable for shade within pastures for the cattle. These trees will also be fruit trees that can also provide food security to the community.
Develop SOP for rural cattle farmers and disseminate sanitation accessories to participants. Community awareness on stop of spread of COVID and compliance with quarantine protocols.
The Project will present the findings from the previous project [Vanuatu Geoscience Association] on reducing land degradation on Saratamata area, East Ambae.
The Project will also present the achievements of the previous project [Vanuatu Leading Association] on sustainable livestock management. The workshop will present the actual outputs of the project and will also present the SOP for rural cattle farmers. The workshops will also provide sanitation accessories to the participants and give an awareness on how to stop the spread of COVID.
