The project is aimed at promoting activities to reduce plastic waste in tourism to contribute to protecting the environment and developing tourism to achieve sustainable development goals of the tourism industry, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
Specific objectives:
- Raise awareness among all levels, departments, enterprises, people, and tourists on plastic waste reduction through
communication activities;
- Piloting solutions and initiatives to reduce plastic waste in a number of restaurants, hotels, tourist areas, and tourist attractions in Ninh Binh and Quang Nam provinces and disseminating and replicating them nationwide; developing, piloting, and issuing ?The set of criteria for recognizing tourism enterprises with no plastic waste?;
- Developing and issuing an action plan to reduce plastic waste in tourism; developing and operating an app on plastic waste management.
