The proposed project will address for the boost up of Agro Tourism as well as establishing a climate resilience community in the areas through improving the malpractices and land degradation at the up stream which helps to minimized the threat of siltation in Rupa Lake in down stream. The overall objective of the project is to develop climate resilience community for improved and sustainable livelihoods through adapting climate smart agriculture forestry system in Rupa Municipality of Kaski district.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
MRC Nepal team is in a strong position to communicate and motivate government, donors, and development stakeholders to adopt and expand these approaches. The project will work in close coordination with local stakeholders including AKC, DWDO, DSCO, DFO, DLSO, DCC, and RMs and support to build the their capacity to implement and expand these approaches in the targeted locations. The best practices on various areas including development of Climate Resilience Community is the main thrust of the project particularly to replicate throughout the targeted Ward/RM and beyond.
Gender Focus
The core focus of the project is to increase the resilient of the most vulnerable groups to new and adaptive food production in sustainable manner that they are normally not able to adapt in changing climatic variability and land degradation. The most vulnerable groups include Dalits, ethnics, or other minorities focusing on women. . The action places the emphasis on working with these most vulnerable households while at the same time recognizing there are community wide need for adaptation to climate change and needs for community harmony, building leadership and ownership of the action for the success and sustain of interventions.
