Updating the Baseline and Landscape Strategies and Capacity Building of CSOs/CBOs in Knuckles and its Buffer Zone.
The OP-7 initiative will support communities in the target landscape of the Knuckles using Capacity Development Projects. These projects will assist in updating the existing baseline assessments on environment, social and economic indicators and OP-6 landscape strategies, and the capacity of community organizations or second-level organizations on project development and provide training on biodiversity and land degradation issues, National environmental polices/ action plans, laws/ regulations of the environment and related sectors.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Awareness Workshops will be conducted in hybrid mode and which will be advertised on Social Media, Newspapers, etc. in order to make local CSO's and CBO's aware of the workshops which aim to build the capacity of the local organizations.
Policy Impact
Planned Project Impacts/Outcomes: Manage the Knuckles landscape through a ?public ? private partnership?; Support conservation interventions to protect and restore sensitive ecosystems, habitats, and species, and prevent further degradation of the natural resources in the core area, especially in headwaters of the streams ; Conserve and increase forest cover in the buffer zone of the KCF by restoring lands that are degraded or mismanaged through community - based restoration interventions; Support sustainable agricultural practices that preserve and enhance agricultural biodiversity and productivity; Ecologically sustainable, community - owned revenue generating schemes to improve livelihoods of people; Increase knowledge and capacity of the local communities and institutions to increase resilience of the overall landscape, communities and livelihoods.
