Developing and Implementing Models of plastic waste mitigation & management at ward level
This project aims to support the development of a policy regarding single-use, non-recyclable, and end-of-life plastic waste by conducting awareness-raising workshops and cleanup campaigns through community participation Pokhara Metropolitan City, Ward no. 12. Conducting Clean up campaigns and awareness programs for 3R practices & behavior change. This whole project will be a stepping step to scale up the scaling of plastic road and plastic brick technology which were already piloted by Green Road Waste Management before. Also, setting up a state-of-the-art demonstration site at the space provided by the local government showcase different ways of plastic waste management. This project will also help to establish a robust system so that others can also benefit from similar credit systems in the future.

Policy Impact
- Development and implementation of zero plastic waste communities - Support to the formulation of policies and strategies of plastic wastes based on the baseline studies and findings from experimentations for implementations on PMC Ward No. 12 to make it a zero-plastic waste ward by collaborating with private stakeholders, municipality, ward, and related organizations. - Raise awareness and participation of communities in plastic waste prevention and management -
Capacity - Building Component
- Focal group discussion with the stakeholder for behavioral change of communities, wards, private stakeholders to develop action plan/practice for plastic reduction/mitigation/collection. - .
