YADLIT is a registered community-based Non-Governmental Organization committed to positively
contributing to the development of sustainable livelihoods in the Toledo District. This will be
accomplished by harnessing the powers of youth engagement, community empowerment and social
networking, while providing income generating opportunities and an inclusive space for community
collaboration by youth, women, and indigenous people.
Empowering Youths Promoting Food Security and Sovereignty promotes the
development of a localized chicken supply chain among small farmers in Punta
Gorda, Toledo. Creation of new income streams for 12 youth in Toledo through the development
of a localize chicken supply chain that promotes food security by 2024.

Notable Community Participation
For the proposed Empowering Youths Promoting Food Security and Sovereignty Project, the
following objectives are envisaged:
1. Empower 12 youth participants in agricultural food security and sovereignty initiative.
2. 40% of the participants being women by the end of the project as beneficiaries.
3. No less than 20% of participants being indigenous peoples.
4. Track Revenue Growth from poultry sale for participants
5. Track Participant?s Client retention rate (Customer Satisfaction rating). MOU signed with each beneficiary.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
In executing the project, the YADLIT team expects to achieve the following specific results:
1. Development of a youth network of 12 chicken farmers in Toledo
2. Provide training series to youth network on best practices for chicken farming
3. Procure inputs for the commencement of chicken raising in Toledo at 12 sites
4. Develop a harvesting, marketing, and sales promotion system for chickens in Punta Gorda
Town and surrounding areas such as Cerro, Cattle Landing Village, Forrest Home Village
and the village of Eldridge.
