Community Forestry Conservation and Development of Ecotourism for improving livelihood of Samaki CF members
The project is aiming to strengthen the capacity of the Samaki Community Forestry Committee to manage and conserve 1,026 hectares of Community Forest areas which are rich in different species of wildlife and biodiversity located close to Thai-boarder by digging a boundary canal of 3,470 m x 2 m x 1.5 m and regular patrolling of CF forest areas. In addition, this project also supports the CF committee and members to build some basic infrastructure for ecotourism development such as building metal stairs of 15,30 m x 1,16m and two big project signboards so they can start to provide ecotourism services and strengthening the existing saving group to improve the livelihood of community members. In order to provide better access to the Samaki CF areas and Community based Ecotourism, two lines of the road were co-funded by Commune Council fund (1,500m) and Community Forestry (2,500m). Documenting lessons learned and good practices are also part of this project.
