Solid Waste Management Model in Lak 40 village.
Ban Lak 40 village is in Pathoumphone district, Champasack province. Currently, the village is struggling with waste disposal problems. These include habitual littering, illegal dumping of waste into the river, and open burning of waste in uncontrolled landfills near households and agricultural land, resulting in local pollution and endangering public health. Although there is a company in the village that provides solid waste collection and transportation services, most residents are still unwilling to pay the fees for them. In addition, the volume of waste is very high due to the lack of understanding and attention to waste separation at the source, which is due to poor waste management and low environmental awareness, as well as the low market for recycled materials.
