Sustainable Beekeeping Management
Wildfires are one of the most important ecological factors that have been under the influence of Mediterranean type ecosystems for centuries. However, the number and severity of wildfires increase every year as a result of different factors such as climate change and the increase in human activities in forest areas. With the development of new media tools, awareness about wildfires has also increased. However, the lack of a common discourse based on scientific data throughout the society, and the perception of wildfires that are fueled by widespread misinformation have led to the misdirection of social expectations and public pressure. It has become one of the urgent needs to eliminate the confusion in the minds and thoughts of the society regarding wildfires and post-processes. For this reason, it becomes essential to design a communication strategy within the framework of a common discourse and with a scientific approach.
The communication strategy to be developed for a multi-factor, multi-stakeholder and multi-geographic phenomenon such as wildfires requires a multi-stakeholder, time-bound, realistic planning in which the needs are analyzed. In order to achieve this, there is a need for meeting and workshop series that will reveal all the components of the communication strategy that will provide change in the society about wildfires. Within the scope of this project, it is aimed to organize an online workshop series to develop a common discourse and communication strategy with the participation of stakeholders working on wildfires, sustainable forest management and restoration. First of all, stakeholders who work and have experience on these issues will be determined, and it is aimed to create common discourse and principles together with these stakeholders. An online workshop will be held with a sub-working group consisting of the volunteers of the stakeholders, where the outline, duration, methods and estimated budget of a nation-wide communication strategy will be determined. With the draft communication strategy plan to be created at the end of the project, a roadmap on the subject is drawn and it is aimed to make it ready for implementation.
