Strengthening the capacity of local communities and nature reserve fund institutions to develop sustainable protected areas in the war and post-war period
The Project promotes sustainable development management of biodiversity on the territories of protected areas and in
local communities during the war and in the recovery period in Ukraine. The Project will work on the methodology for
analyzing the state of the natural environment of institutions of the nature reserve fund, taking into account the
consequences of military actions; a strategic document on the sustainable management of biodiversity, mitigating the consequences of climate change in protected area institutions and on the territories of local communities; relevant
training programs and professional development courses. It is also planned to hold 6 training courses on biodiversity
conservation, climate change mitigation for PAs employees, representatives of the local community, local authorities,
environmental protection inspectors and a round table on biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and
implementation of project results at the regional and national level.
